It can be challenging to find our footing sometimes and trust that we have a solid foundation to stand on as we walk in the world. As we evolve our foundation changes and its roots grow from the layers that make up our existence. It can be overwhelming to know what these layers are made up of if we don’t explore them. They are made up of thoughts, emotions, energy, wisdom and physical body. Over time, combinations of all these things culminating from our experiences have a tendency to get stored in our cellular memory and subconscious. One of the greatest gifts that are available to us is accessing from a curious mind how these layers have blocked us from feeling a sense of connection and Oneness to our most authentic Self as well as our connection to our relationships and the world around us.
We will spend the day learning through the Vedic traditions as well as other modalities how to navigate and look more closely to all the layers that make up who we are. We will explore what causes us to suffer or live with afflictions that impede our ability to feel a sense of peace and joy within. These are known as the 5-kleshas; Avidya (Ignorance), Asmita (Egoism), Raga (Attachment), Dvesa (Aversion) and Abhinivesah (Clinging to life or fear of dying.) As we explore these aspects of ourselves we will look through the lens of the 5-sheaths surrounding our Self known as Koshas; Annamaya (Physical body), Pranamaya (Energy body), Manomaya (Emotional body), Vijanamaya (wisdom body), Anandamaya (Bliss body).
It will be sure to be a day of transformation through dialogue, self-inquiry and various activities to aid us in pealing the layers back, together. There will be plant allies incorporated throughout the day to assist in an even deeper connection with our natural essence. We will close with a sound bath and energy clearing. Bring a blanket and/or yoga mat and pillow, journal and an open mind. All are welcome.
