Ashley Davis, herbalist & Co-Founder of Tonic & Founder of  the Sacred Garden School

***Ashley is not available for consultations for the remainder of 2021 as she focuses her time on developing curriculum for next year’s programs. See the above for a list of recommended local practitioners.

The initial consultation lasts an hour and a half, during which time I collect a detailed health history as well as an energetic assessment of a client’s emotional and physical needs. We go over all of the major systems of the body, looking for patterns and ways that each part is affecting the whole. I draw on systems of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda as well as Traditional Western Herbalism. This is both a scientific and intuitive process that allows me to make individually-tailored herbal recommendations for each client.

As an herbalist, I do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe medical conditions. I do work with my clients to develop natural strategies to support health, well-being, and the body’s own healing processes. This is often in the form of diet and lifestyle recommendations, as well as herbal teas and tinctures.

After the initial consultation I like to follow up with clients once a month for the first 2-3 months, then on an as needed basis. Most formulas need to be re-evaluated about once a season, and this provides an excellent opportunity to reevaluate your health and tweak the formula accordingly. Follow-up sessions can take 30-60 minutes and are available in person or by phone.

My fees are $125 for the initial hour and a half consultation, which includes the first follow-up consultation, and $45 for subsequent follow-ups.

About Ashley

I have been studying and practicing herbal medicine for over 10 years. My primary teachers include Kat Maier, Ursula Bach, Stephen Buhner and Joseph Immel and my study has been a blend of Western, Chinese and Ayurvedic teachings.

My love affair for herbs began with an interest in self-sufficiency and sustainability, and quickly expanded into a full-on paradigm-shifting immersion that satisfied my spirit on so many levels. I continue to be amazed by the multi-dimensional dynamics of the plant world, and find the connections between human health, planetary health and universal consciousness to be endlessly fascinating.

I love to teach and share about the many uses of a single plant, the many ways of thinking about an imbalance, the satisfaction of making your own medicine from wild plants, the different cultural perspectives on elemental theory, and the beautiful mysteries of Nature.
