5/9~ Rooted & Restored: Body, Breath, and Botanicals

Join us for a 3-hour workshop that is, at its heart, a love letter to women. All women. The ones who are pregnant right now and can’t quite catch their breath. The grandmothers who held laboring daughters through long nights and never got to rest. The teenage girls who deserve to grow up understanding that their bodies are intelligent, not problems to be managed. The postpartum mothers lying awake at 3 a.m. wondering why no one told them it would feel like this. To the Preteen asking, “when does consciousness descend into our bodies – I feel out of place.” You are all welcome here.

This workshop grew out of a question we keep returning to in our apothecary work: Why do the oldest plant traditions in the world — African herbalism, Appalachian folk medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda — all arrive at the same botanical allies for women, especially during their reproductive / or / perinatal journey? Red Raspberry Leaf. Nettle. Motherwort. Shatavari. These plants appear across continents and centuries because our bodies are speaking the same language, and the plants have always been listening. These plants tend to the Women, at all ages and phases of life.

We will spend the first part of our time together learning the science of feminine and reproductive/perinatal wellness, the evidence base for somatic bodywork and breathwork, and the brilliant convergence of healing traditions that have supported birthing women since before anyone was writing things down. We will talk about why this knowledge was suppressed, who kept it alive anyway, and why reclaiming it is not nostalgia — it is medicine.

Then we make things! Using our hands and herbs and oil with pure intention — then you take these items home – They are yours – made by your own hands – and filled with nature’s goodness. We follow that with a guided breathwork session rooted in both modern somatic science and ancient practice, accompanied by a visualization that invites the wisdom of the women who came before us into the room. We close with tea, journaling, and a circle where every voice matters.

Space is limited to 10 participants so that the circle stays intimate. Registration is $35.
